Default Car accident - Diminished value

Hi,

I got into a car accident and was wondering if anybody on this forum has used a company for a diminished value claim ?
Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Let me clarify this. I need to prove how much my car went down in value after the car accident, even though it was
repaired. So there are companies out there that exist that are so called "professionals" in the business that will
provide documentation to prove how much value your car has lost as a result of the accident and repairs.

thanks

omer

I dont understand the question. If you where in an accident then the insurance company paying for the repairs would have to write you a check for diminished value of the vehicle after repairs are done. Thats about the extent of my knowledge

I added more info for the post. The thing i was trying to say was that you need to prove how much value the car has diminished as a result of the car
accident and I need a company that will help me with that.

Cost you more for attorneys than you will get. Your argument is valid notably if there is structural / frame damage but the insurance companies will ignore / fight you.

I have a lawyer for the accident, so hopefully that will help. He is not getting any money off of the diminished value
claim so not sure how much effort he is going to put into getting money for diminished value. So i am curious to see
what happens as the law suit goes forward.

I tried to do the same thing and it was an exercise in how to raise my blood pressure.

You can get an appraiser. i have a name and number if you want but i'm not sure if he's still in town. The guy used to work at brumos porsche here in jax. not sure if he's still there. may have gone independent. pm me if you'd like his info

The insurance adjuster will do everything he can to make you forget about the diminished value so stay on the slimy bastard.

basically, the diminished value they'll try to give is some percentage of the total repair costs which, in my case, wasnt a fair deal.

like you mentioned, i doubt the lawyer will help since they dont get any $ from it. If the appraisal doesnt work you could try getting an estimate from carmax to see how much they would give you and compare that to what their offer would have been without an accident. that is the diminished value in my opinion but you need to convince the adjuster because he'll want to use the lower value. they will definelty make you work for it.

i wish you luck and advise you to stock up on blood pressure medication in advance

My lawyer is suing for injuries so I will not agree for any settlement until my diminished car value is addressed.
My car damage was about $8000 and the diminished value appraisal was estimated around $5100. What do you think
a fair offer is and what value should i expect to get that would be considered reasonable?

Thanks
