Default GPS Security System?

Has anyone installed any of the new GPS security systems? Seems to me that alarms are just annoying and no one pays attention to them any more. With lojack your car can be located, but only after you report it missing, which if you're away for a few days is a real fly in the ointment. With the GPS systems, if the car is moved, you can have the alarm call your cell phone and also send you an alert e-mail. You can also see exactly where it is AND where it's been in real time by logging onto the internet. They're a little pricey at around $700+/- and a monthly fee as well, but it seems like the only thing that really offers serious theft protection. I see that Viper just started selling one, as well as a company called Millenium. Just got my Yellow S and it doesn't exactly look inconspicuous in a parking lot. Thoughts anyone?

i have had an s for 2.5 years. very very few actually get stolen. Many get broken into and loose there seats and shift knobs. A good alarm and kodakan's seat locks are aboutr all you will need. The secret to an alarm is one that only goes off when soneone is actually messing with the car. a well adjusted shock sensor and a proximity sensor will do the job. Audio logic in Davie, have worked on a few of our cars and do great work.

Congrats on a great car. let me know if you ahve anymore questions

If they steal my car, I wouldn't want it back anyways. And LoJack doesn't anyways work. It makes the assumption that cops actually use their LoJack unit and sometimes they don't or even ignore them.

put the GPS sensors in the seats - car stays put but it would be interesting to see where the seats end up

I think gps requires power, once the seats got ripped , the sensors would not work

The $700 is ONLY for the GPS add-on unit itself.
you'll need actual viper or any other DEI alarm (such as Clifford, Autopage, Python) to properly work.

I know this cuz i'm dei dealer
