Default interchangeable final drives

So I need to pull the exepertise of the gearheads in the group-

Sorry its not S2K related- but its on my new project car-

to be competitive I'm gonna need to drop a 5.12 into my RX7 for SCCA ITS. Just as I've heard of people dropping Junkyard rear ends off of trucks into S2k's does anybody have any idea how I would figure out what other cars would come stock with an applicable ring and pinion. I'm really trying to get around dropping $1000+ on a rearend as the mazda competition version still needs to be modifyed to fit.

Any input would be appreciated

the gearsets in the s2k are mazda gearsets...I'd start there.. I also understand some Hundyai gears are interchangable but I'm not sure about that. But they may also then be intercvhangable into your rx. mazda makes gears for lots of companies.

I'm unaware of anyone yet who has put a 9 or 12 bolt rearend in an S2k altho some have talked about it.

I hope that helps.

Thanks- I'll start with that- so seems that Mazda is the proverbial kingpin of the rear end world here- what sucks then is that if Mazda tells me my only way out is to blow the grand I might in reality need to do it.
