Default Miami apartments

Greetings.

It looks like I'll be getting a job in Miami, so I need an apartment/rental condo down there. I'm having problems finding apartments in halfway decent areas in my budget (figure 1200 max, but cheaper is a lot better). My office will be in downtown Miami but I'll be traveling all over Broward and Miami-Dade for most of the week, though it sounds like my travel would be mostly south of downtown Miami. I'm generally looking from Pembroke Pines down to Kendall.

My only requirements is that the apartment allows pets (one cat) and washer/dryer in unit. Garage would be a big plus, but it looks like that's going to be extremely difficult on my budget.

tl;dr: moving to Miami. Looking for apartment from Pembroke Pines to Kendall, max of 1200 but less is better. Needs to allow one pet and washer/dryer in unit. Garage big plus, but not necessity.

Thanks, hope to meet some of you soon.

You should find something in your price range in both the areas you just mentioned. A coworker of mine rents an entire house for 1500. I pay less than 1200 for a one bedroom in a gated community. Check out apartments.com I actually found my place using internet searches and those free magazine's you find at local supermarkets. Shouldn't be to difficult.

The Doral area has a few new apartment complexes that have garages but they're probably above your price range. They might have move-in specials though.

Thanks for your help guys. I think I found a place--going down tomorrow to check it out.

I plan on getting an alarm for my car. Theft is the one thing I'm really concerned about.
