Default Mitch's Windscreen Bumper

My windscreen flapped in the breeze like a flag, it made me crazy (not that I wasn't crazy already)
I knew what I wanted it to look like and how I wanted it to function.....

Well I have been searching for the parts to do this for a while. With a blue interior, I didn't like the way the Rick's bumper (black strip glued to the rollbar) looked.

I found some brass T-nuts and 6mm allen head bolts, and small rubber feet..

Of course the T-nuts were to long and needed to be ground down, naturally the bolts needed to be ground down as well. And the holes in the bumpers were to small. With a little grinding, drilling, and cursing..............

A small hole drilled into the side of the roll bar, and presto.

Damn it hurts to drill holes in this car

BTW Ricks suggests leaning the screen back just a little bit. It cuts way down on Mirror glare

And yes Joey that is your cover in the background, works great , just needs to be washed a few times to get the lint out

What do you guys think ?????

Looks good. I unfortunately have the black strips and when I took them off, a lot of glue residue. Your idea is a lot more discreet, but calls for a hole in the role cage. Not great if you go back to the small screen, like what I am doing.

Solution here I agree is tough.

Looks Great!! Think I'll do that also. I don't care for the strips either.

The bumpers would stay if I decided to go back to the small screen. A little black paint on the T-nuts and they would look like they were built into the the roll cage from the factory. Then the bumpers could be removed.

If anyone is interested, I will sell the a set of the bumpers and a ground down set of t-nuts for 10, plus shipping. I bought some extra's incase I had a problem.

I did paint them black, but the paint get abused when these things are press fit in. Rubber mallet and a small piece of wood are needed to mount them.

I'll take some pics of the t-nut without the bumper tonight, and post them

Here are pics of the install without the bumpers install. For those that might want to go back to stock.

Oh, someone asked me for picks of the seat covers, so here they are...
