My First Bad Cop...
I've been pulled over many times since I received my driver's license at 16. The first three years was just non-stop tickets and speeding and more tickets and weaving in and out of traffic...
Then I grew up. After I turned 19 I just stopped being reckless; don't know what happened, it just clicked off.
Tonight in the S, at the age of 25 and on the way to Taco Bell I got pulled over. I haven't gotten a ticket in six years, and I can honestly say that I haven't deserved one. I stop at stop signs, I drive TOPS five miles over the speed limit, I don't change lanes under intersections, I just abide by the rules...
I'm sick at home with the flu and decide I'm starving and I'm heading to TB. I go outside and it's not so bad out tonight so I put the top down and head out. As usual I'm driving slightly over the speed limit at 44 in a 40 (Down Sunset Dr.) and a cop comes out of no where, speeds up behind me and throws his lights on.
I pull over into the Public Storage and this guy walks up and straight up tells me he clocked me going 80mph at the 92nd light and had to chase me down to give me a ticket. Let me tell you aside from how full of shit he is about the speed I was going that I live on 97th and I made a left onto Sunset heading West toward Taco Bell, AKA going UP avenues. 97th - 107th... Yet he saw me at the 92nd light fly by him.
Blah. What can one do, right?

You shouldve told him to get his eyes checked and learn to read tailights better. But then again, he likely wouldve been more of an asshole. Sucks you were alone and you have no one to corrobarate that you weren't doing anything wrong so therefore its your word (as a private citizen which technically means nothing and your word is useless) and the Cop (ideal person that ALWAYS says the truth). It sucks...it's a system that's greatly corrupt. Ask him for video, most of em have cameras see if he really caught the right car.
My thoughts are simple. Law enforcement should be regulated privately by Citiznes and NOT self Policed. Additionally there should be limits to the time officers can be patrol men limit of like 10 yrs or so then siwtch em to a desk job. They learn to twist the system way too fast and its too easy for them to do so.

Go to court with pics and an enlarged map showing ur house, taco bell and where he stopped you.
my dad's fought all his tickets, w/o a lawyer. he takes pics of street signs and 1 speed limit sign, thats miles from where he got stopped and says, look theres no speed limit signs anywhere along the street. He's had like 2 tickets in miami in the past 10 years and its worked for him both times.
i on the other hand have no luck. 8 dumb 10-15mph over the speed limit. had 1 lawyer lose, 1 fake, 3-4 BS. And the rest i guess i really deserved
