Hydrolocked a little while ago and my engine is busted, i took the plugs out and tried to crank by hand etc. nothing works. I was going to have it rebuilt but Flat 6 Motorworks is estimating me 1850 in labor for the work with no parts for the rebuild.

I posted it up asking if thats the best thing to do and everyone is telling me to just buy a new short block. Anyone know where ic an pick one up for a good price? Pref. locally to miami but i am willing to drive 6 hours for a good price.

Youre insurance may cover this. My buddy has Allstate and had both his Civic and S "hydrolock" and engine were replaced.

 

Not trying to go through insurance if i can avoid it

Insurance covered my shortblock when I hydrolocked. I just said I was driving in heavy rain, heard a weird noise, a clunck and she shut down. When they tore it down, they said they found puddles in the cylinders. Sweeeet.
