If I needed, or better, wanted a blue ray player for an entertainment set up, should I just opt for the PS3?? I have kids and I am sure they will enjoy it. All I want is the better DVD player for HDTV and watching movies. I will play games once in a while with the boys (my boys ). Is it worth it? Any other Blue Ray is about the same price...I think.

THANKS!

Erick

Absolutely worth it...

Some people used to think that the console wars was gonna depending on which technology took off and was more widely excepted.

Blueray Vs HDDVD or whatever its called.

With the Playstation coming with it... blue already has the jump.

Xbox will soon be releasing a HDDVD addon, roughly gonna cost 170 bucks if i remember correctly. So if you already have a 360, you can always use that.

As far as the TECHNICAL aspects of it... Do some research cause honestly i really dont know to much about which is better for what and such and so forth.

Eventually one technology will remain though... and id put my money on blue ray. Which means eventualy you would prob have to pick up a blueray anyways.

June 28th I purchased a PS3 for my son's birthday and It is an amazing machine although I know I paid a higher premium $700 for the 60GB W/ controller and a game it's worth every penny, No regrets and my son loves it!!

I still believe that its worth its high price, imagine that SONY is losing money because it costs them more to make than what its sold for. That means they are risking it all but they know they will get their money back and more because the machine is lightyears ahead the competition when it comes down to the hardware. The game issue is nothing to worry about, everyone wants a piece of the PS3 and son the place will overflow with great games.
