I'm guessing lag time is the amount of time it takes someone to move off the start line after the "start" is issued and from 1st is how far your time was off from the person who got first place.

I can explain:

"Lag time" is the PAX time difference between that particular driver and the driver in the next fastest position. For example, the lag time between myself and Doug (D.J.) Quara was a mere 0.007 seconds. That means my PAX time of 31.264 was 0.007 slower than his of 31.257.
Do you autocross your Miata more than the S? I thought you took the S2K to the track more? Does the Miata handle better on the track?

Since wrecking Ruby (MY 2000) in October 2004, I've been autocrossing and tracking the Miata. Scarlet (MY 2003) is a street-driven vehicle only. I co-drove a friends S2000 at Fort Myers last season, but this year, I'm focusing on Miata driving at all venues.

The Miata is easier to drive at the limit compared to the S2000. I think that's due to its lighter weight (2350 vs. 3000 lbs with me in the car), lower power (95 vs 200 RWHP) and its more forgiving suspension geometry. The S2000 is the faster car in most situations.

Well obviously it didn't rain. The last time I base my autox decision on what the dumbass weatherman says.

On a related note, how the hell do you auto-x in a Camaro (much less do it well)? I drove one once, and it was like steering a boat...

That's no ordinary Camaro, and he's no ordinary driver

Camaros are actually well-rounded cars, especially the last generation Z-28 & SS
