No power yet....phones are finally back on since Monday...

FLL is opening for flights today at 7am, but closes again at 6pm due to the curfew.

Does anyone live near S. Dixie Highway in Hollywood?

If so, any way you can check out the bodyshop where my car is and let me know if it still exists? I haven't been able to get anyone on the phone down there since the hurricane

(the shop is Donnie's located at 1400 S Dixie Hwy)

I rescheduled my flight to pick up my car (was supposed to pick it up today) until next week, but I'd like to know if the shop (and my car) were victims of the hurricane...

I'm back. Shingles and landscaping same as everyone. No power or phone and water is on a boil warning. I left yesterday and am in NC until utilities are restored.

Best of luck to everyone and stay safe.

Hey all, my duplex didn't have any damage. Although my landlord didn't bord it up so I was sleeping and thinking please don't let the glass break on me. O well on monday I had no elec, first time in a cat 3 hurricane, wasn't that bad, but its sad all the damage that happened in miami shores and on my campus on barry. So now i'm back in curacao got to drive my S for a few days. Maybe sunday i'm back if campus reopens, but there are rumours of staff workers that maybe next week will still be closed. And it will take about 2-3wks to get elec in the area i live :S

Power in my part of Boca (really the county) came on at about 4:30 this afternoon; water pressure stayed up the whole time. Things here are fairly ripped up, mostly the vegetation and its aftermath (trees falling on things, etc). Sure am glad I have a garage.

It's annoying to have missed the last two games of the World Series. I rooted for the Sox as a little kid the last time, and seeing them win would have been fun. HPH

Back. Everything at my house is fine. I was up in West Palm where they had power for the past couple of days.
