Default X out the "X"

Well...it has happened. The NSX has gone down. Sunday night, around 1:00am, driving home and I notice that the car next to me is changing into my lane. I swerve to avoid a collision, hit the curb lining the road and ride up on it. Guy pulls over, cops arrive. "Son, I'm sorry but you are at fault for this accident since veichle 2 never made contact with you..." WHAT THE F*CK!!!! HE ADMITS TO RUNNIN ME OFF THE ROAD!!!

So, I take it into the shop. The front bumper is scuffed, hanging and cracked. The right rim is scraped all to hell (18" Racing Harts...about $900 a rim). Cosmetically: its not all that bad.

My mechanic tells me at glance that its not too bad and probably just needs paint and some bolting back up.

I leave to let them do an estimate. When I get back, they tell me its going to run about $11,000!!!!!

How the _____ does it go from paint/bolting up to 11,000? Simple. The whole right suspension: shot. the hood: shot. Left Headlight assembly (yes, the LEFT headlight assembly): shot. Rim/Tire: shot. Aluminum frame: in tact (thank God). Front Bumper: shot. A/C Condensers: Shot.

Good thing about this is that a stock bumper on my car is about $3,000. I found a Burn Up JGTC Bumper complete for $1200 shipped. that leaves me with $1300 extra after deductible. Thats going to my 90k/6 year service and side skirts.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR one month without the ol toy!!! F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow sorry to hear that. I hate the way people drive. If you need anything, please let me know. I also recomend the best body shop in Florida:

Miami Chassis Auto Collision
3051 Nw 24 St
Miami Fl, 33142
Ask for: Jhulio Tadeo
305-634-5211

They are the best.

Sucks, sorry to hear. That's crazy, all that damage. How long until you are up and running?

Damn, sorry to hear about this... I'm glad you're alrite though.

Maybe you should do the 02 conversion?

I agree with Chris... Take your car to Miami Chassis and speak to Jhulio there. They'll take care of you.

So, it'd be better to let them hit you?!??! Ugh. Some laws are just stupid.

I hate to loot a dead body while it's still warm, but does this mean you have a Racing Hart C5 3-piece center cap to spare? I've been looking for just one that's in fairly good shape.

I don't have center caps, but I will claim on my insurance that I did and give it to you
