Default AP1 ECU in AP2

I just got received my 00' ECU in the mail. I was wondering if it is a straight plug and play install into my 04' S to get the 9k redline or would it need a tune and some other things to get it going?

I've heard of guys on this website 'safely' reving the 2.2L to 9...but I want to make sure before I do anything.

It would be neat to get the UK/JDM spec AP2 dash so my redline would start @ 9 (like the ap1's )

I put a ECU in my AP1 from a 2004 Sunfire. I'm now able to redline at 5500rpm.

So I think your idea should work fine.

yeah i read a post on various sorts in the under the hood forum or was it racing i onno

some mod who actively races said constantly going 8500+, the ap2 will blow sooner or later, then i also read something else about no power gains past 8500 rpm's

i dont know, it seems like a waste and not worth the risk

uhhh... I don't think an ap1 ecu will make the f22c rev to 9k, lol....
it's just a different air/fuel ratio isn't it?

apparently this is a good mod for performance... but i wouldn't rev it that high... BOOM
