Damn that's unfortunate, on the bright side an upholstery shop can dye the leather

Late to the party but yes, it's looks like a professional repair.

Sanded down, filled, dyed and cleared

While the exposed area doesn't look good, the repair didn't look so great either as the top coat was yellowing. Plus it shouldn't have been coming off that easy with just cleaning. Consider a leatherique repair as it isn't that expensive. If you can swing the expense and downtime a professional leather repair would be best, including putting in new leather pieces at an upholstery shop.

It will be very difficult to replace just that piece and have it match at the same time.

You're better off doing the repair or just look for replacement seats.

Contact inside job upholstery. I've seen a bolster repair and dye on an s2000 red seat and it looked awesome.

Here is what it looks like after it dried. It still feels smooth.

I would love to have them redone in cloth or alcantara. I'm going to call a few shops.

Either that or maybe some Sparco Milano 2's, if they fit.

I just spoke to the local Upholsterer. $1000 per seat to reskin in to cloth and $180 to remove and restich the damaged leather with a new (hopefully matching...) one.

For $2000 I would get some aftermarket seats and sell the old ones...

I wouldn't go there anyway since the shop looks sketchy, and I learned my lesson on small sketchy shops already.

I'll try a few more places, and update.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or if you've considered this already but why not get seat covers?

Clazzio makes a really good cover that fits nice and snug
