Default First Time Experience

I pre-registered for open lapping at Cayuga circuit track, for Friday July 30th, 15 minutes before the pre-registration closed. As soon as I hung up the phone, the countdown in my head started. I set up meeting points with tws2kftw in Mississauga, then SpidArman for the rest of the way from Hamilton.

Friday rolls around, have 2 helmets ready (thank you SpidArman ), brother in the car and we are off. First off, up the DVP, then across the 401 to 403. The traffic was intense, almost as if someone designated this time as parking time, cause it sure felt like that the whole trip.

Finally arrive in Mississauga, happy as shit that Im haflway there. tws2kftw gave directions to his place, so I get there, and see a beautiful Audi S4, and a great looking white BMW 335i. Great cars! I would love to see those on a track I thought. I then text tws2kftw to let him know I am here, so he replies "Ill be right there". About 5 minutes later, I see this yellow ap2 roll out, and my jaw absolutely dropped. I saw a stunning S2000 with a body kit, awesome wing, track tires and rims! I was hoping almost for a second, it wasnt him, cause I now knew I had no chance on the track. I then find out its his friends Audi S4, and his brothers 335i coming with us too! Now this must be car heaven, cause Im falling in love.

My brother was in the way for this one, taking pictures (turned out well, Ill get them up too)

Also good for tws2kftw, he is standing at the license plate

Meet up with SpidArman in Hamilton, and I see a stock white S2000. Dont worry Spid, I couldnt leave you outcasted too with a stock car, figured I would keep you company there.

**side note to anyone, do not let me lead if I do not know where I am going**

After driving past the track (really? How could I miss it...), we get in finally! First run on the track, I go fairly slow, nice and easy around most the turns just learning the track. My brother chose to record a lap on his iPhone, on the 3rd lap. Just so happens, on this lap in corner 2, after the second long straight I started braking too late. I went off the track about a foot, oops . After about 6 laps we head off. We look out, and the BMW is still out there for another 15 minutes! He must have been in love for the first time . Unfortunately the S4 had to leave early .

After a few times of on and off the track, we all had a huge amount of fun. I learned that I need new tires for one. I basically drifted every turn on my bald tires, and even one drift I held through a corner where I turned the wheel one full turn! Wheres next weeks paycheque!? In the end I was able to push my car near to its limits, and post a time of 1:32 around the track! We recorded tws2kftw about 1:26, and the BMW was untimed. By the way I hated corner 1, and the hard left after the S curves. Corner 1 because of the bumps, and the other turn because it felt like they slicked the road there for me.

http://www.touge.ca/cayuga.html to see the track, if you havent been there.

I cant wait to do this all again with proper tires, what a difference. Rode in tws2kftw's car and it was a whole different feel, wasnt a slight drift on every turn more of a grip feel. Had a lot of fun with you bud!

nice now I actually might know some people there. Should be good. I'm looking for 1:26-1:27 in the ITR. I would not be suprised if it was quicker though. Feels like the ITR goes around corners faster, just no grunt to pull through (less TQ than s2k) no race pads though but it should be fun

I have a HUGE itch to go again! OOooOoOOOoOoo I cant wait. I think I was the loudest car (with a cat) on the track. Imagine that...

I ate up about half a tank of gas, never actually looked at how many KM I put on the car though. tws2kftw and I put on about the same, so maybe he could enlighten us? It was actually very weird, cause it had 1/4 a tank, then I came off the track. I let the car run for abuot 10 minutes to let it cool down instead of hot to off. After the cool down, the gas tank was EMPTY, beyond empty. I put 47.6 litres of gas into it at the gas station

Yesterday was the best day of my life.

I don't have a proper sentence to best describe my feeling.
Its just amazing and unimaginable. I used to think that track racing cant be too much different than go karting. I was so so so wrong.

For my first couple laps, I just felt like I am going too fast and gonna lose grip at any time (in fact I was going really slow). So I went back to the pit lane after 5th lap, thinking maybe I should let the tire and brake cool down a bit. After couple more laps, I finally understand why people always saying how great the stock S2000 is.

I had a lot of fun lapping with Fluky15.
First time meeting a S2Ki member, and he's just a nice guy.
Although His rear tires are almost flatted out before track lapping. @@"
I think he has really good skill that he can still manage to lapping for the whole day. I ran out of track 2 times even though I have pretty new dunlop z1s. I bet if I was driving his car, maybe I wont be typing this paragraph right now.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun yesterday. And I wish we can have a S2000 lapping day soon in the future.

Oh...

There's a problem with my car, and I just can't tell what's the issue.

There was this sound, kon kon kon kon...., whenever I make a sharp right turn.

Especially the high speed right turn after the first main straight.
After braking, I turn right into the corner, and the sound just came out along with some tire scream. The sound stopped right after I enter the 2nd straight.

I'm pretty sure its not something at the back of my trunk. I feel like its came from under body.

I wanna figure out what the problem might be before I go to a body shop and let them check out the car.

I think he meant a more pre-planned lapping where we all show up. We would have a dedicated thread and so on. The Vipers seemed to have that going on with the Vettes for sure.

Thank you for the kind words bud. Your a really great guy yourself, you and your brother. I think at the end you were doing really great too, completely smashed my time! Glad you turned the traction control off too eventually, much faster then. My bad I should have just recommended it right away. My brother also said that your brother is a great driver as well, tell him to keep up with that Forza .

I never did get from you, how many litres you put in your car at the gas station? Was yours as empty as mine?

And that noise was so weird... Only fast right turns. I dunno if a body shop would know, I think rather a mechanic would be more knowledgable on this?

Ha, hopefully its not something big.

I put 43.79 liters in my car.

And I think I put about about 35 - 40 km on the track, or maybe less.

Just did a little math my self, those 35- 40 km's fuel consumption.

Its about 30 liter per 100km.
