Hi Scott, if you want to try the UK mod, come and hear mine. I will be doing another one next month, which will be for sale.

It sounds very nice. No real performance gain, tho' my 'seat of the pants' dyno felt the throttle response being a bit crisper.

See attached photos for examples of how I do the mod

Mine seems louder than any S2000 that has the same exhaust NA. I guess it's an assumption that it's louder.

Do you think you could rig up a mod to a CR exhaust for me ? , I think what we would have to do is run a secondary pipe off the main rear pipe to the center of the rear mufflers as they are chambered and the outflow is through the center of the mufflers.

You can see pics of the CR mufflers in my old thread here:

OK, I had a look at the photo of the CR exhaust, and yes it can be done relatively easily.

BTW, the 'loops' on the AP1 exhaust are stainless steel. Unless you are running the S2K all year round, it will last for much longer than the rest of the car. The corrosion you see is not unusual for this type of stainless. That's why it's called stain 'less', it is not called stain 'free' steel.

We can chat on PM.

Cheers,

RB

Cool, I will contact you by pm on this. I've seen a few ap1/ap2 exhausts perforate in the loops while the mufflers and mid-pipe were fine, so I thought those were common rust areas. Maybe they were winter driven or maybe moisture accumulates in the loops ?. Either way I've been really happy with the CR exhaust, a bit more sound of it is all I'm looking for.

Do you have one installed on a car with a Test Pipe as I'm really considering it but did not like the amount of raspiness in youtube videos with TP+UK Mod, and would like to hear it in real life - let me know (I am close to Guelph).
Thanks.

I have not installed one, but someone else may have, dunno.

My car has the mod with the Cat installed.

Hope this helps.

Albert from Speedstar replied to me that they can still get the Legalis R exhaust if anyone is interested, pricing isn't too bad.

Performance data suggests 3ps power gain, no torque gains, peak numbers. Decibel numbers are similar to stock at low rpms and increasing at high rpms.
