Thumbs up Importing vehicle, insurance question

So I've found a car, figured out the paperwork and the process, but I've hit a roadblock. Called my insurance buddy but he said they can't cover anything that's not licensed in Ontario. For those who've imported before how did you guys get a policy for the ride back up? or did you just trailered it back? It's not a far drive, just Rochester NY, but still I won't drive on the road with out insurance. ADVICE!!

find another insurance company because I was able to get a temp card from State farm. You're also supposed to get temp insurance for each US state you enter as well as a temp plate if you are driving the vehicle.
