You'll need a helmet, so you may want to get one now.

If you are interested in a helmet you can pick one up at Cycle World located at McCowan and Sheppard. That's where I picked up mine for $200 taxes in...Something like that and it looks pretty decent....

Or You can get a Jim Carrey helmet like Vince's

A school is definetly worth the $200...no doubt about it!

I agree with everyone here......At first I was pretty scared of the car in the rain because I hadn't learned to control it yet. When I went to the Glen a couple of months ago the end of the 1st day rained, so I was able to gain a full hour of racing in the rain.....and my S02's were not in super shape then either.
Just get some experience in the rain, it will make a huge difference on how you feel. You will find it can be a lot of fun

Some of us are very particular about the word racing.

You admittedly got some very valuable driving school experience in the rain, but no racing experience in the rain.

Wise words my fellow spa...

Having been humbled to this reality long ago, it is so nice to see someone else put this realization into words.

I've got to agree. The only difference in driving fast in the dry and the wet is that when the car lets go in the dry, and it will one day, you will be going much faster and everything around you will be happening at a quicker rate. Hence you will get into a much bigger and more painful crash if you don't have the skills to correct it.

And we wouldn't want that to happen.

I think Lesley has the Kumho 712's not the S02's. Not sure how those tires are in the rain.
