Wouldn't police have contacted the owners directly? Either way this could be it..!

Edit: Just saw the line about "Altering VINs"

F'ing pricks should be beat badly, theft over $5,000 might have them back on the street in no time with our retarded liberal judges.

Reapur give that detective a call and see if any of your parts were found in the stash if you haven't done so already. This is a good lead.

Public flogging should be part of any sentence for offences like stealing. Every time they think about stealing again those welts on their backs would remind them of the consequences.

I thought $5000 was that threshold, and if you go over it, it becomes a much bigger offense. Whereas theft under $5000 can be considered fairly minor. That's what I thought anyways?

Mike, the penalties for stealing cars are inadequate, not only are they short, the way the system is designed once you're arrested the sentencing is pro rated for time served based on how long the process of the trial takes etc. so if there's a sentence of 2 years in jail and it takes 1 year and 8 months to go through the system you're only in jail for 2 months. It's f@#king stupid and this is why people are stealing cars in the first place. Big money low risk even if you do get caught. Even after 3 times getting caught crooks rarely see prison time, and this is a fact. Theft over $5000 is the standard charge for auto theft.

yeah it is too easy for them to get back on the streets, particularly after their first offence, plea deals and an over-burdened judicial system, liberal judges, and weak laws all conspire to give these people nothing more than a wrist-slap.
