MX5 is a very sleek and iconic car. Much loved all over the world (except here lol). Understandable why it is there instead of S2000 but an MX5 should not be on this list as it not so pretty as lets say a Toyota 2000GT open top or an Alfa 8C cabriolet. The S2000 is a great looking car but its design is too racy and modern-edged to be on such a frou-frou classic shaped list. The 280SL is the only one that can pull it off without being curvy for them I guess.

I would have swapped out the Alfa Duetto for the Alfa 8C cabriolet, and they picked the wrong picture for the 250GT Cali, they should get the one with the closed headlights. The Toyota 2000GT, Ferrari 275, Triumph TR6, or Eagle Speedster would trump the MX5 for me. I guess no Eagle because they already had a E-type. F-Type then, I think its beautiful.

The list is bang on, except for the Mercedes, Miata and the DB9.

I love the Fiat 124 Spyder. Almost bought one a few years back.

I call foul, my Triumph Stag isn't on the list! I didn't think much of the article because a) it's on Yahoo, b) design is by definition subjective, and c) the list of manufacturers polled is absurd--has BMW ever made a stylish convertible? Of course Mays likes the Aston Martin--I did a double take when a new Fiesta drove by, thinking some crazy fool had imported a Cygnet.

But to answer your question, no. The S2000 has a clean design that is certainly better than any of the MX5s, and IMHO one of the best of its era, but by no means one of the ten or even thirty best of all time; those cars were all sketched in Europe long before I was born.
