Thermostat and fan switch poll
Just curious what combination you guys are running with our climate and such. I am able to moniter the temperature on my s2k and am currently running OEM thermostat and oem fan switch but if I leave my car running at idle or am stuck in our lovely rush hour traffic, my coolant temp. will get up sometimes to 230 degrees before fans come on and cooling off and dropping back down to the normal 197 degrees.
I created a poll in an effort to find out which makes the greater difference the fan switch or thermostat and if BOTH are necessary to maintain an adequate temperature.
So lets hear your comments and suggestions.

Cannot vote as you did not include the right combo.
The fan switch and the thermostat are only 2 of what should be a 3-part system.
Your missing element is the radiator cap, a cap that creates a bit more pressure is also needed as the greater pressure water is put under, the higher the boiling point goes.
I have been running all three Mugen parts for about 45,000 Miles.

im running the cooler thermostat, fan switch, and higher pressure rad cap. Installed it when i had an Emanage ultimate with agressive timing. I find my car runs alot cooler now with all of them. If you are planning on getting them do the mugen ones... ive heard of other people not being able to keep the car at operating temp with the spoon... IE heat on during a cool day.
I have no problems with mine... except it takes a little longer to get up to operating temp on start up

so I just installed spoon rad, and it came with a spoon thermostat and rad cap. To tell you the truth, I havn't noticed a difference at all with startup cycles and when fan comes on but in theory, what should the thermostat do for me? I don't I have a fan switch that I know of

im pritty sure MY06 and up dont have a fan switch. If you installed the fan switch and thermostat, you will definitly notice a difference in temp. since MY04 and up have a more accurate temp gauge. Just running a fan switch is pointless IMO.
