Sorry to be a bit off topic Fred...

I'm not really a IT guru, and recently I've been looking at a new additoinal TV for my room. My friends told me LCDs last longer than Plasmas but the quality is a bit worse?

Well I just want a TV for regular use, from size 20-40". I don't need the TV to support awsome graphics or whatsoever. I only need it to watch some regular TVs (Non HD), DVDs, and sometimes video games. I would also like to connect my computer with the TV as monitor if possible.

So what are the factors I should be looking at and be aware of? Any place has some good deal going on or perhaps does anyone here have connections?

Oh, and if it can be assembled as a stand-alone would be good also. Because right now I don't want to get a wall mount in my room, however a few months later when I move out I might need to get a wall mount.

Thanks in advance guys.

EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention my most important concern...

First of all price of course, then it's the brand and durability (life time), followed by the size of the TV.
