Anyone put a top on themselves?
I know a very reputable local garage said they put oem tops on for $1400 which seems very reasonable. I have seen some cloth tops on auction sites for around $500. Has anyone attempted or succeeded in replacing their convertible top themselves? I am fairly handy but sometimes there are tips and tricks that if you don't know them you are sunk. just curious... would hate to pay $500 to see my top laying on Rt. 19

I have a new Robbins top and it looks and fits great. Matter of fact, I wouldn't have needed a new one but someone slashed my top. The top that was slashed btw was a Robbins as well. The fit was very good on that one too. Just some advice if you are purchasing your top out of pocket.

yea it is a pain in the ass to do. if u r mechanically intelligent I would say u can try and do this but prob will need 2 people but if u don't have that much experience working on cars and especially interior then I wouldn't even try.
