Default Debating on putting a 12" sub in the trunk.

I'm debating whether to put a 12" sub in the trunk. I listen to a lot of hip hop and love bass. I was thinking of going with a Kicker L7 or something similiar in performance. I would like to hear someone else's system first. It doesn't matter if it is a 10 or 12 inch sub or a different brand. Input, suggestions..Lmk

I suggest a 10 just based on space, that's what I have and if your puting that high watt of a system it will be more than enough

I have a 12" sub in minee. I would recommend it if your gonna do it the right way and not have your trunk rattle looks good and sounds great. I had a custome speaker box made to fit where the jack should be most def worth it if you dont use your trunk much like I do

I would contact "2big4aS2000" through PM about newer shallow mount technology speakers. They require less air to move correctly and can be tucked into many locations previously unheard of for 12's. He and I have been working on developing a trunk install that would keep 90% of your trunk available space. (it would still use up the jack/tire well) but deliver richer sound to the cabin. His foot well 10" would be a great addition to bring thump and punch into the cabin as well.

IMHO Andy knows the in's and out's of the S2000, regarding sound and available options for install, better than anyone around. He definitely has more experience with our particular platform than most in the nation, probably the world....LOL I am sounding overly confident, but i trust him implicitly....

I would use the footwell 10 in addition to a sub in the trunk. The 10 has nice rock punch and stabby bass but the fuzzy stuff comes from larger speakers....

and if you really want to sell the "feel" of bass in the S2000 I suggest shakers under the seats with a variable control dial so you can adjust them when you want them more aggressive. it really does the trick. The S2000 just presents a challenge for "bassheads" there is just too much between you and the areas where you can put speakers without diminishing the cars functionality in some way.

I am working with Andy on a ground up re-visioning of my previously epic trunk. I plan to do a full write up thread on our ideas and final outcome as soon as I can launch the project.
