Hood dampers - Who has them and which ones?
I'm getting really tired of the crappy fitment of the prop rod into the Comptech airbox so I'm thinking about getting a set of hood dampers.
Any suggestions? Additionally how difficult are they to install?
Kthxbye.

I have TEIN hood dampers. Who knows where I stand in the long line of previous owners. I wanted them so that when I opened the hood (which is never) I would not have to fool with about propping the damn thing up. I would imagine they are easy to put on, however, like 99% of the stuff on my car I watched someone else do it for me.

Mike,
here's my chance to return the favor for recommending maximum velocity to me... I recently put on hood struts on mine and, unless you are wanting a particular matching tein green look or carbon fiber look, etc. I would recommend the ones I put on mine. Sokie Tech from ebay. 60 something bucks. They work great, easy to put on, no problems. you can spend $150 + on these but I'm really not sure why, it's not a complicated piece of equipment... and unless you're looking for the bling factor, spend the 60 bucks and be done with it. Its great to have the hood prop itself up.
Oh, got a question for you too.. last time I was at maximum vel. Jon told me that you( at least I think it was you, not caneintn) had him put on sway bar(s)? you like them? what did you put on?

That wasn't me on the swaybars. I've been a bit leery about suspension changes as my car has always seemed to be pretty balanced already - at least until you let off from 120+.
PM me a number and let's do the lunch thing. You do know MVM is moving to Murfreesboro don't you?

I put on the Gendron sway bar. I ran it at Little Talladega and it felt good. True test will be in a week or so when I autocross it and see how it feels. I'll let you know.

I ordered the NRG HD 140s from Modacar just now. I got the polished set for $99 + $20 S&H. I'll post a pic or two when I get them on next week.
I looked hard at the Sokie Techs but in the end I gave in to the bling factor.
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions guys.

With the additional headroom/workspace it seemed an opportune time to clean the engine bay and do the Supra PCV valve mod.
Next up - install Greddy catch can on the PCV line mounted inside the Comptech airbox. Still working out the details.
