Lol, you'd be better off just going to an actual welder and giving them like 20$ to quick weld what you have. You'd be in it for a bit more money if you had to rent a welder. How soon does it need to be done? I am actually looking into purchasing a new one very very soon.

Sooner than later...LOL

I have an issue w/ my convertible top. Currently I'm swapping out the Tan top for a black one. However, what I purchased showed up and didn't have the shit it was supposed to. Now I need to grind down a spot weld to remove two brackets....swap to the new top and spot weld them again.

Ahh....how much are you wanting to pay? I may just go buy one then if you pay a little...it'd help offset the cost a little more.

How hard would it be to just move the top to your frame? Crazy hard? That's why you got the whole assembly in the first place?

Yep - So annoyed about this. The guy is being a real DB about the whole thing. Moving just the material is a larger pain than for me to just fix this last issue.

Jordan, you said "$20" earlier...LOL

What's a machine cost?

Yeah, 20 would be fine.... I just need to get stuff figured out. They're definitely not cheap if you want a decent one. I have a lead on one right now that I've been tempted to pull the trigger on lately, lol.

Well, don't count on my 20$ just yet. Someone has suggested another method to me trying to figure this out.

This is the backside of the bolt...you can see it's spot welded. I need to grind that down and get the bolt out. Eventually having to secure it back on there once again.

This isn't my pic, just someone elses who ran into the issue. My spot weld isn't even that substantial.
