There are way too many people that have plasma's over their fireplaces. As little use as mine gets I'm not worried about it. My fireplace is more for looks than heat. I can see where if you were running it a lot where it could present a problem but the heat that heats the house will be more of a concern that my fireplace ever will be as far as things getting too hot.

 

I hate furniture places that don't have online prices...
