As a few of you guys know, after the mod day Saturday I was going to head up to Bristol to see my mom and build a deck at her place Sunday. I got a late start after I got home so it was 9:15ish when I left. I was trying to hurry so I could see the fun fest fireworks. Anyway I was almost to Rogersville when I notice a cop on the left side of the road turn his lights on and go by... then about a mile down the road another. I figured there was an accident or something behind me. I was about a mile past the one redlight on a 11-W in Rogersville when I see blue lights over the hill behind me. Which is never good. Then I noticed another car (or so I thought) between us. So I'm thinking I'm probably OK. I quickly realize that it was a motorcycle and it passed me like I was setting still. I was almost deaf afterwards as it was a big honda cruiser with some pipes at WOT and I had the top down. Closely following were about 8 cops chasing him so I pull over and get out of the way. I was like . Never seen a high speed chase before. So after they went by I pulled back onto the road and start going about my way... a little faster as I figured every cop in a 20 mile radius was chasing that guy . So they are long gone, I thought I might eventually catch up and see the end result. So several miles down the road I get nothing. I start thinking he must have turned off or something. Then to my surpise I see blue flashes over the next hill, and I think they got him. Nope, here he comes flying back on the other side of the road, he whips it though the median about 75yrds infront of me and gets back going my direction. I slow down and watch at the police cars lumber though the grass. Some passed up where he went though and went to the turn around directly beside of me (cop cars seriously need a bumpsteer kit btw ). They were quickly out of sight again. I go about my way again singing "Bad Boys" . Later I pass a couple cop cars on in the median guarding another road. That was about it. Finally got to kingsport and I got to see the looming smoke from the fireworks .

Here is the newspaper article on it.
Kingsport Times

That was Saturdays crazy experience. I have a crazy experience from Friday that would probably pretty good to share. Remember that dead battery problem I was having a week ago. Well, that battery is in about 5-6 chunks . (Not my fault)

Wow ... that's cool to see the chase pass you a couple of times like that ... even if it does make you feel like a sitting duck in your car while the rest of them are flying around.

I would have saluted as he passed the second time.

What'd you do - drop the battery?

We've been under a genuine "toad strangler" for the last hour or so. I was planning to grill steaks tonight but may have to improvise.

Need the rain though.
