Brake Time
Hey guys
Looks like it's that time to do the brakes on the S. I can hear the brake pad indicators and it's annoying the hell out of me
. I'm gonna inspect the rotors when I get home, I think I may need to have them resurfaced as well. Replacing the pads is a simple DIY. Unfortunatley removing and resurfacing the rotors I don't have the tools for
. Any shops yall would recommend for pads, brake job, or rotor resurfacing.

i forgot the name of the place but on mainland and bandera behind the sonic they charged $15 per rotor. its not that bad to resurface the rotors but everything else you should do it!
You only NEED to resurface the rotors if the surface is damaged (i.e. scored, burned, etc.) or they are warped (you'll feel vibrating in the steering wheel when you brake). You only NEED to replace the rotors if they are too narrow or if they will be so after turning the rotors.
That said, if you have a lot of miles on your current rotors it may be worth your peace of mind to just replace them. They aren't too expensive. The more worn the rotors get the more susceptible they are to getting warped. Then in the future if you need to replace the rotors, you will need to buy another fresh set of pads.
