Lost Maples State Park Drive

Lost Maples State Park Drive
A few of us were talking about possibly setting up a drive to Lost Maples State Park to see the folliage change. According to the web page the trees are now starting to turn colors. It states the peak color change should be in a few weeks, it is supposed to get really packed during that period of time. We were thinking that we can drive up there, enjoying the hill country roads a bit, check that out and then maybe get some lunch somewhere in the area. There are no plans yet, just throwing it out there, please fill free to provide inputs or ideas. Here is the link to the place that I am talking about.

Maybe someone can set up a poll to figure out when the majority would like to do this. I was thinking in like two weeks leaving here at like 8 or 9 am.

If you are planning to go to Lost Maples State Natural Area (the park itself), then plan to get there EARLY. Make it the first part of the drive... Then plan for lunch and a drive after that. If you get there too late, there will be a line of cars along the highway outside the park that are waiting in line to get in.
I'd be interested in something like this in a few weeks, but my weekends have generally been packed lately, so I am not a guaranteed participant... I'll do my best, though.

Count me in! Still trying to get a camera & mount setup that doesn't vibrate badly. Anyone have a cam-corder they'd like to try and use or one for me to mount in front of the windscreen for the trip? I think part of the problem is my point-n-shoot microphone quality.
