Default break in milage

I just got a new 2003 s2000 thousand and I was just wondering how many miles that you have to put on the car before you can actually hammer it. I've hammered it a couple of times hitting around 7500rpms when I had about 300 miles on it. now I have about 920 and I'm freaked out about driving it fast. My friend told me that you cant drive over 55 and you cant hammer it until 1000 miles. He said he had a friend that drove his s2000 pretty tough the first week and ended up messing up the engine. Please guys give me some input here!

650 miles or so is the normal break in on this car, however, I would personally hold off until 1000 miles. Also keep checking your oil at every fill up, you will use quite a bit of oil in this car (up to 10,000 miles). Also, do not change your oil until 6,000 miles or so. There is a 'break' in additive added to the oil to help seat valves, pistons ect.... Oh and check for spring spacers......
