carbon doors
somebody called me?
Here's my advice since I owned a set. Don't do it
For the record, I got my ASM CF doors for $4000 (still a lot of money). They were exact carbon replicas of oem doors. I would say ASM replicated it 99%. The 1% b/c I had to use Curt's file and file down one of the holes to fit some window regulator in. An ASM CF door weighs less than the OEM door hinge itself (maybe 2-3 lbs?). You can pretty much fit all the windows, speakers, and interior door panels on the an ASM door. I don't know if Seibon CF quality is good, esp in this instance. I've had the unfortunate pleasure to see Mugen CF get damaged in numerous ways (Mugen and ASM both use Voltx for their CF; I hit a deer not too long ago and the Mugen dry carbon bumper held up well considering...), but the CF on Mugen holds up pretty strong. I think should you get hit on the side, the difference between ASM and Seibon CF would be that you would get more CF splinters with Seibon than the ASM (should you survive in the first place).
The main (and most significant) difference between OEM and CF doors, there are no metal side bars on the CF ones that an OEM would have. That seemingly insignificant 2-inch pipe can save your life.
Anyway, should you decide not to heed any of our warnings, please post pics when you get the doors
