well i understand the whole side impact thing. i have thought about that very much, but i used to ride gsx-r 600 for a while. the whole getting hit and not surviving is just that, it could happen and it could just as easily not happen. heck with the gas prices as bad as they were and still are, i even thought about selling my ranger or civic and getting back on a bike. but those things are dang near getting jack more than civics out in SoCal, and i'm sure they are more deadly than carbon doors but thats another topic all together. anyway it goes it's dangerous, but i do thank you guys for showing concern. heck most people would just say "thats hella tight, you should get em" i don't like the all carbon fiber mixed in with the silver, i much more prefer on solid color over the mismatched setup i have now. and i do go to the mountain a lot, but my deployment schedules are to frequent for track events.

do you plan to track as a hobby or for competition? if its for competition or show use, i can understand the want and will fully support you getting them. if its just a hobby, i'm gonna have to say nay cuz i mean how much faster do you really need to be that you need the weight savings from the doors. thats all i'm saying.

I think I read somewhere that you could reuse the stock beams.

I'd PM Boofster from the AZ forums. He has/had CF doors.

This.

what is the point man. It's not a show car and its not a race car. 2000 can be spent in much better ways IMO.

my entire car is pratically carbon fiber except the rear quarter panels. As for the doors, like eveybody else has said, its pratically a death trap. Considering mine is a daily driver and the entire thing is CF im reallllly paranoid of other drivers, especially out here in NM. I actually put three 3/4 bars going left to right inside my doors and fiberglassed the heck out of the inside for hopefully some better side impact safety, especially on my passenger side since my girl is always with me. If you are going to paint the parts dont bother with it because you do run the risk of a few fitment problems, especially with your window sealing up. I still get a whistle from the top corners because of fitment.
