Default Check Engine Light

Fellas,

I got a new stereo unit and speakers yesterday and afterwards my check engine light came on. Is this something I should worry about? The car drives fine and I dont believe there is anything wrong with it. If not, how would I go about resetting it?

On the brighter side, my '00 model hit 50k this morning!

Thanks for all your help!

Go to an autozone and have them pull the code. It probably isn't anything serious, but at least you'll know for sure what it's throwing.

Take it to Autozone and have them scan it. They do it for free, then post what the code is and we'll try to help you out!

The MIL light is for dealerships and the government to make money. The only time you need to worry about it is if the car is running poorly, you are getting bad gas mileage or if the light is flashing. Generally if the light is flashing you need to turn the car off quickly lol.

I always carry a scanner in my car. I love Hondata still gives codes =). Even better if you have a laptop hooked up because it can give you all kinds of cool information.
