Trish,
What about car insurance? I was told you have to transfer your car insurance within 30days of moving here. Can Allstate refuse to pay for damages b/c my Allstate agent is out of Florida? I called a local Allstate agent and they didn't like the sound that my car and registration would be FL but I wanted to open a Texas policy. Do Texas PD ask for proof of insurance when they pull you over?

Then that's how I would get caught if I were pulled over they would question why my insurance policy is through a Texas agent but my DL/Tags were FL. Unless I keep my insurance the way it is and pray for the best...this topic is beat to death...thanks for all your help.

Like Jeff said, if you slip up and tell them your current addy instead of your florida addy. You are screwed!

It wouldn't be necessary...Insurance cards have the date the policy was opened. I'm not going to take a chance that I won't be covered in case of an accident. I rather pay a fine then forfeit my insurance coverage.
