Default Ghost in the machine...

"Duke" has been acting weird the past few days.

Almost every time I turn off his engine and pull the key out, the 'key in ignition' light continues to flash at me and of course the annoying beeping continues... even though my keys are in my hand. Then, of course, he won't allow me to lock the doors.

WTF???

Maybe it's time to rename him (him???). To stay with the Duke theme, how about you start calling your car "Fuqua"?

Or any mispronounciation thereof you can think of.

That's a new Ghost. Maybe it's an early birthday present.

Did you take out the key immediately after you turned off the engine? I remember reading some where that if you take out the keys quickly after you turn off the motor, it does that. I'm not sure.

i have the same problem.
at least sometimes...
apparently sometimes the key will come out without the socket completly turned towards you.
i stick the key back in and turn the ignition socket towards me until i hear a clicking sound
it usually goes away.

it doesn't happen enough for me to take it back for warrenty work yet...
however, i plan to do so somewhere down the line.
