Default help with problem with my I.C.E

i have a stock head unit and did the, add two wires to the rear of the oem unit to add a subwoofer diy. i have an 02 s2k. i have a jlw6 10" and a punch amp. i used the high output converter to use the rca plugs on the amp. it has been working flawlessly for about 8 months. a couple weeks ago i went to baton rouge for the bama and lsu game and took out my sub. i tried to install it this weekend and when i went to plug in the speaker wires to the sub terminals, the negative was fine but when i plugged in the red a spark occurred. the sub worked, but when i turned the radio off, there was a pop. the kind of pop when an amp is not grounded correctly. i turn the radio back on, but the sub does not work. i unplug the speaker wire and reconnect it and it sparks again and the sub works again. everytime i turn off the radio and try to turn it back on, the sub wont work unless i go back there and reconnect it. any ideas??? any help is appreciated.

Just saw this. When you removed the sub for the trip, did you ensure you kept the leads seperated. If for some reason they touched it might have put the amp into safe mode or shorted it.

Seen it before when people take speakers out and the leads touch..POP..new amp.
