Default Purchasing questions

I am looking to get a sebring silver on red and will be ready to do the purchase at the end of August or so and didn't want to have to wait an additional few months to be able to get the car that I wanted after that.
(a) When should I start contacting the dealerships? Is it possible to reserve without a deposit?
(b) And if there is a deposit, what if I'm still not ready (able financially) to buy it at that given time, will they be able to hold it for let's say another week or two?

Thanks guys

DV,

In my own experience and my opinion:

a) Start looking now (start with John Eagle Honda -- they are sponsor here)
b) A 100% Refundable Deposit is required (usually $500 bucks, just give them a check), if you run into "Financial" issues, I don't see a problem with them working with you to get it. Trust me they will try their very best to get your business. If you do run into problems talk to MAC he is the GM at JEH.

Good luck in your search...

Check around the area. Someone might have the car you want. But don't get locked into that. Make sure they understand you're willing to wait and shop around.

I bought my S2000 from Mark Young at McDavid Honda and was very satisfied with his integrity in our dealings. He can show you what cars they are already expecting (as can any dealership) to receive in the next few months, so you might not have to put in an order.

Good luck!

Unfortunately our beloved John Eagle Honda will not have any new S2000s until September (or all the ones coming in are spoken for). But, you should contact them now and see what they have coming in later in the year.

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to start calling around tomorrow to get the lowdown on any new incoming S2k's. My only fear is to be able to get one but it has already been VTEC'd without me knowing about it.

Are there going to be any big differences with the 03's? Someone mentioned on the forum that the all red interior was going to be gone. I hope not considering that I wanted a sebring silver with the all red interior.

DV,

The mileage on a NEW CAR should only be between 9 - 15 miles (this is the Dealers testing), anything beyond that I would ask why. This should indicate that it has NOT been VTEC'd. (IMO)

Check out this this for the 2003 colors: 2003 Colors
