Default Top Cut in Downtown

So I work in the middle of downtown Houston and got the pleasure of walking up to my car the other night to see that someone had ripped my top and tried to get into my car. Nothing was stolen. Seems as though they ripped it enough to put their arm in to try and unlock the door but they couldnt reach it.

But now im on the search for a roof. I've talked to the dealers about putting on a new soft top but ima try and spring for a hardtop. If anyone has any info on some hardtops (OEM pref.) please let me know. Im try and hold off of getting a new soft top for a few days to try and locate a hardtop but the dealers informed me that they are discontinued. Any help would be appriciated.

I've been looking into the Forbidden USA Tops but am unsure about them based on reviews about fitment. Any info on the Seibon would be a help too.

What you might do for the time being, is find someone who has a ripped top, cut a patch out of it, and sew it into place, silicon sealing it with your top, so you can still drive the car.

As far as a hard top goes, the OEM ones are discontinued from factory, but there are some 3rd party makers that will make new tops as well as some used tops you can find here and there. Generally you're looking at $1800 to $2800 for an OEM styled hard top, depending on where you look though.

Rivin2e is right, you can pick up a patch from someone and patch it up.

Actually the hardtop can still be ordered from the dealer...... you just can buy it assembled, you have to but the parts and put it together yourself. There is a backorder until about October, and they will soon be discontinued.

If theft is your motivation then make sure you secure the hardtop.

I have a forbidden USA hardtop and it fits really well, no issues. It was also cheap.

I have some patches if you want to fix your softtop, PM me if you need them

Granted I am not local, I but I will be pulling my soft top soon. It's in extremely good condition on a 30k mile car.

Thanks! Im really looking into the Forbidden USA tops. Im a little unsure based on some reviews but as far as fitment and windnoise goes, I already have a hole and a leak. So ima just hope for the best and pray that it fits the car right.

If I get a hardtop, do i get to keep the softop still? You just put the softop down and bolt on the hardtop? Or have to remove the whole unit?

Thanks Again!

You can have keep your soft top and have your hardtop installed too. With the OEM hardtop hardware, your soft top remains functional, too (not sure with the aftermarket ones...).
