Your other post said that you were hit. The other guy's insurance should pay to replace the entire soft-top. If you're nice to the shop that does the work, maybe they'll put in one with a glass rear window.

Am I the only one confused by the fact that his 01 window is plexiglas? It's vinyl- it shouldn't crack (tear, maybe, but not crack). If it has the glass 02+ top then it should be just that- glass.
Regardless, the top IIRC has to be removed, or at least a lot of work has to be done to get the window section replaced. I'd hit the dealer. The factory shop manual details the procedure, if you are good with tools and patient you should be able to DIY.
As mentioned, if insurance is pending, don't do anything until the insurance adjuster can look at the car. They won't reimburse you for that cost or at least will give you trouble if you fix it on your own.
I would, however, be calling the insurance co. and the police to encourage them to move along. In both cases the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
