Sorry to disappoint, but I have no sympathy for criminals that put the lives of others in danger. If they're willing to risk other people's lives by trying to run from police, then I have no qualms with ending their life in order to stop their little rampage.

Also, my "shooting criminals that are trying to evade police" was aimed more at pursuits on foot or at close range... not necessarily for high speed motorcycle or car pursuits. But, yes... when it comes to bike chases I'm all for blocking their escape path with a cruiser or even putting down road spikes. PIT 'em, just like you would a car for all I care. I want the pursuit to end as soon as possible, but not by letting the guy get away.
I see what you are saying, but what type of "criminal" are you talking about? Almost every car/bike enthusiast has ran from the police in some fashion. Does this make them bad people? No. Does this make them deserve to get thrown into a highside on a bike? No. Now if it was a felon who stole a bike and robbed a bank or something extreme like that, then I am with you.

In reality, when the cop engages pursuit it will endager more people. Now you have a 3,500lb car going 80mph instead of just a 700lb bike. This is why most counties do not pursue for minor offenses such as speeding. Also for the endangerment of the rider of the bike.

I've run 3 times and gotten away 3 times. Twice in the '01 Vette and once in the S2000. It's stupid. I always felt really bad afterwards because of how much I risked (jail, felony, etc.) There was no traffic in all 3 incidents, so I really didn't place anywhere else at risk, but myself.

Not sure what I think about that cop car hitting the motorcycle. Not very cool is my first inclination.

Can someone fill me in on the reason this individual ran from the police and endangered his life, the passenger and innocent citizens? My guess is his license was suspended, had at least FTA (failure to appear) and no insurance.

I asked this above and either no one has the answer or they think it isn't important. See my post on page 2. I was curious myself, but it isn't mentioned anywhere.

There, fixed it for you.

You guys all seem to be forgetting one primary point: the motorcyclist fled when the police tried to stop him. That's a felony. More importantly, it's a very stupid thing to do.

Now I'm all for "innocent until proven guilty", but if you run from the cops, you're guilty. At the least of evading arrest, and probably more than that.

People are ultimately responsible for their actions. If they chose to run from the law and they die/get hurt because of that (bad) decision, too f&*^ing bad. One less piece of flotsam in the gene pool, imho.

Don't want to get hurt/killed while running from the police? Here's a brilliant idea: don't run.
Like I said earlier. That one decision doesnt make you a piece of poo in the gene pool.

Does drinking and driving home make you one? No

Everyone makes stupid decisions at one point, and I can tell you some of the coolest people have ran from the police. (Not cool because they have but just great people)

I think it is ignorant to make that statement. Maybe he was just trying to turn the girl on by the time they got home
