Apex event at MSR (3.1 CCW) on Oct. 18th

I think we all can meet at Honda Frisco, Tollway and 121.
We can take 121 all the way to 820 and that would be probably the shortest and easiest route.
Y'all want to meet up at 121 and tollway at 6:00AM?
If we leave at 6AM, we'll get there by 7:30 and I think driver's meeting is at 8AM?

I guess everyone is still too exhausted from the track time and carnage on Monday to post…
Well, it was a mixed bag for me. The first session was really greasy and I had a big four wheel off at the transition to the 1.3. No harm, no foul, just a little grass in the front splitter.
Second session was great, got the tire pressures and shock settings dialed in, got into a good rhythm on the track. Ran down a black GT3 on Pirelli Cup tires, which is always rewarding.
Third session everything went to hell. Started having trouble getting the car to shift into 3rd or 4th gear. Brought the car in, shut it down, tried to get the shifter to go into gear with the clutch depressed. It won’t. Crap. Let the car cool down, it will go into gear, but it is making expensive noises with the engine running and the clutch depressed.
Limp the car over to MER and have them diagnose it. It’s terminal. Probably a broken 3-4 shift fork. Not good. Thankfully, they have a completely rebuilt spare sitting in their shelf. This unit was built up to be a spare for their Grand Am RX-8s, but due to a rule change in ’09 that allowed them to run a stronger box this tranny was built and now they have no need for it. It’s been sitting on the shelf for eighteen months just taking up space. Jason and Shannon offer me a very nice deal on it, I leave the car with them and head back to the track. Less than two hours later they’ve got the rebuild in the car, everything bolted up and ready to run. The car runs great now – big thanks to Jason Saini, Juliann Pokorny and the rest of Team MER!

Weather was great. I was out of rubber by 1:00 so packed it in. Had a blast on the 3.1. Got a couple of clean laps. Nothing to write home about. Beats work any day.

I do love me some 3.1 though...
What a great track. It was good to see everyone and thanks for letting me take a few laps in your cars. I ended up driving 4 S2000s! Man it makes me miss having a sports car.

That's a very fast SLOWTUS.
It's nice to not have to lift to let someone pass.
