Default Cam Doctor

Anybody know of a local shop that has "Cam Doctor" equipment, or other equipment for accurately measuring the specifications of a cam (not installed in the car)?

I'd like to get this done both for my stock cams and for the set of Toda cams that are currently in my car. I've been told that I can use a degree wheel & dial indicator, but if there's a local shop that can do it quickly, accurately & easily then I might just prefer to go that route.

I'd do it on a spare head and measure directly from the valve. That'll eliminate any error in the rocker ratio calculation (or more appropriately, assumption). If you do it at the valve, you'll have the exact lift figures.

^ But that would require me to actually have a spare head.

Yes, and a cam doctor won't give you truly accurate results. I guess that's the tradeoff you have to make. Are the cams in the car? Why not just measure them on the car?

Why would a cam doctor not be accurate? It's making a physical measurement of the cams at the cam lobe, right?

The Toda cams are in the car now, and the stock ones will probably be going back in. I'd measure them in the car, but I don't know the whole procedure well enough to feel confident that I could get consistent/accurate results.
