Default Is this deal too good to be true?

Hey all, hope you guys don't mind a quick intro. Coming from a 2011 Civic Si sedan, got into a car wreck recently (not at fault) and will be getting a nice check for a new car considering my car had about 20k miles on it and the KBB value was decently high. I've been lurking on this forum for quite some time now lol to learn about the car and what not and I can tell you all that this forum is awesome! So much better than 8thcivic LOL. Looking forward to meeting you all and discussing about this awesome car. Anyway, I am set on getting an s2000 and already test drove an 05 BB in Farmers Branch and fell in love with it. Looking to test drive a couple more before I pull the trigger. I am also a Student at UTD but live around the Plano/Allen area so hopefully you guys will see me around Richardson/Plano/Allen.

Enough about my boring self - I am constantly looking online to find that perfect cat for me that fits my budget and I came across a 2008 CR with 4.4K miles going for $9,800. Now from what I have been seeing, that is still pretty cheap assuming that it has a rebuilt title. I have seen a couple late model AP2 s2ks with low miles and rebuilt titles going for around 10-13K. I would link it but I'm not sure if that's allowed here.

It seems so sketchy. The picture of the CR has a header stating that the phone # doesn't work and should contact the dealer via email. I wanted to get a carfax on it but they didn't provide the VIN. I emailed them about the VIN and about the title but no response back yet. What do you guys think? Hopefully, if it's legit I'm ready to go get in right now, but something tells me this is 800% a bad idea.

The car is junk, most people sell their MY00 with 100k on the clock for that much.

kennychiwa,

If you have the link to that car could you send it to me. I'll check into the history of that CR for you, it's way too cheap! It's too good to be true.

I have a ding on the rear quarter and 24k miles and would not take less than $25k. Defenitly a scam. You can probably find a good 03, 04 or 05 pretty cheap and have money to spare if the si is totaled. 06 and up are still pretty high on value.
