WoW...i am sure don't want to meet madmomma right now...oh, is your daughter single? because i am
J/K
First of...is the engine check light on? If engine check light is on then you can take it to any autozone and let them diagnostic for free. But if the engine check light isn't on then it's a guessing game. It could be bent valves....it could be crack retainers from over reving....it could be MAP sensor or the IAC need to be clean up or it could be the timing is off....and so on.
I am supprise how the dealer just playing a guessing game instead of diagnostic the car for you before saying all that. If you were closer to me than i can take a look and try to help you....eh...your daughter out
. My best suggestion is contact Todd(Marcucci) and maybe he can help you out......the man is good with honda.
In the meantime i would try to clean the map and the iac....change new oil just if there any metal shaving in the engine or not. Check the plug and the timing. My car used to idle really funny.....up and down from 1000rpm to 2000rpm and sometime it would stall because i was runing the ram air with no filter to the intake manifold. Clean the map and the iac and the baby idle perfect fine.

1) Is the CEL (check engine light) on? If so, go have the code pulled (at Autozone) like viet says, and come back and tell us the results.
2) Has she ever mis-shifted? Even for people that have driven stick all their life, it's not uncommon to hit 2nd when you intend to hit 4th in this car, due to the close gates. I've only driven manuals and I've done it myself, but fortunately I wasn't near redline at the time.
3) How many miles does the car have on it? How many miles did it have on it when she started noticing problems? Can she think of anything that might have happened around the time that the problem started occurring?
It's very difficult to diagnose this kind of thing over the internet. I really hate to say it, but it kinda does sound like bent valves, and the tech was right when he stated that pretty much the only way that could happen is due to a misshift. I doubt it's cracked retainers... I don't think they really show any symptoms until they actually fail, and the AP2 (2004+) retainers are stronger than older ones, which are notorious for cracking during a money shift. You may just have to pay the $85 diagnostic fee, or find a trustworthy mechanic to take a look at it. You might post what part of town the car's in... there are probably a few people on here that could look at it and take some educated guesses. Or even if they aren't educated guesses, they'd probably take a look at it just to get a chance to meet your daughter.
Good luck, and sorry about the misfortune.

OMG...you boys are killin' me!!!
Well even though those are very good educated guesses, like the techs. But, not the right answer. I want you boys to read this and weep! Oh and Yes, my absolutely gorgeous daughter is single, but very much involved with an army boy. Sorry guys!
This is just one of the many links with this same story, and even though it not list the S2K, it has the same symptoms.

I wouldn't get too excited, yet. I'm pretty sure a failed fuel pump relay would cause the car to stall and prevent the car from being able to re-start, once it happened. Since you said you've driven the car to several dealers, that's probably not your problem.
Just to clarify what I was trying to say... I believe that once the fuel pump relay fails, you won't be able to start it at all. No fuel will get to the engine, so the engine can't run. A failed fuel pump relay would not result in intermittent stalling.
Since your problem is intermittent, and the car is still able to run (sometimes), then the fuel pump relay is not your problem.
