Oh, and generally stalling will only be caused by:

- insufficient fuel
- insufficient spark (both these are unlikely in an S that new)
- lack of TB bypass (bad/disconnected IACV)
- bent valves
- misadjusted valves

One simple inspection item is to check the valve clearance. If it was adjusted in the winter and the clearance was too tight, it could die in the summer at a light. Somehow I doubt it was touched, though. If she went into the dealer complaining about the engine ticking, they may have adjusted it to reduce the clearance.

It may help if you post any previous maintenence history.

If you don't get satisfaction with the dealer, contact the # shown in your owner's manual for the regional office.
Wasn't there a recall on the owner's manuals because that number was incorrect?

Great writeup, Todd.

To everybody else - maybe if yall cut back on the leg humping, we'll attract a few more female members around here, eh?

(Not sure if I should put a smile or a frown at the end of that...!)
