Yeah, don't waste your time on the relay... If only it was that simple

mxt is right... there's a chance it might be somewhat intermittent, but not like you're talking about (I've had a fuel relay start going bad on me before).

It's a relatively cheap fix if you want to try it, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Actually, older honda's had intermittent main relay failures when they warmed up, and their solders weren't holding -- so it's possible. Probably not true on newer Honda's, but you never know.

What I can't figure out is why everyone was wanting to hit on the daughter... LMAO....

OK, so... In all seriousness, In the article she attached, S2000 was not on the list.... Were S2000's recalled for that reason?

To answer TX Phantom....No It wasn't on the list, but maybe that's just because there aren't that many S2K's out there, so it hasn't made it on the list YET. It's worth a shot! It has the same symptoms and it's made by Honda in 06. "and I'm stickin' to it!"

Vacuum leak? Check all the small rubber lines around the engine. If one of those is loose, the car will try to stall in neutral.

Be sure you don't leave us hanging if/when you get this fixed. Come back & update the thread with the solution.

The only recall in 2006 that I've heard of, was for the owners manual, which had incorrect contact information.

I saw this car at Bankston. It looks like the engine was over revved, but there was no CEL. It was puzzling. I think the owner even said she mis-shifted.
But there was an '06 Si a few weeks earlier that had similar issues. But that was a KNOWN over-rev (customer admitted it) and it wouldn't idle properly. A new Cylinder head was in order. I think that was the same outcome on this S2000.

Why would a bent valve from an overrev result in a new cylinder head? Shouldn't it only be new valves, retainers and pistons? I would imagine a new head needed only if valve pieces broke off and scratched the head/cylinders.

I'm no expert on this so I'm just asking of info.
