I am waiting for more people to build high compression naturally aspirated E85 motors, but am considering a head swap on my red car to bump compression to 15:1. Swap injectors and tuning, then it should be making 12-15% more power based on some estimates I have read. Some believe compression in the 18 or even 20:1 is possible.

Last I checked there were 3 stations in DFW selling E85 (all Kroger IIRC), one <8 miles from my home.

I realize this thread is old, but I'm curious if any of you have reconsidered e85. From what I've been reading, it seems like a "good" conversion could net significant power gains. I realize that e85 has a lower power density, but so does nitromethane. The benefit from nitro and e85 is that it requires less oxygen to burn, so you can burn much more of it in a smaller cylinder. Power goes up while MPG goes down.

The reason why I'm considering it is because I've outgrown my stock fuel injectors. I figure that if I'm going to get bigger injectors, I might as well get injectors big enough for e85.

Are you ever going to boost your car? If not, you can get ID1000 injectors, and that would be more than enough than you'd need for anything, you could sell them quickly, and they run like stock.

I believe they are good for around 400 whp on e85?

I would change fuel system, get 2000 cc injectors and run e85 if there were more stations.

If I boost my car, it would be a low PSI SC, but I think N2O would be more likely. I found a guy that has a set of brand new Siemens-Deka 675 cc injectors for a good price, but I am a little concerned that the stock fuel pump (returnless) would be able to maintain a steady fuel pressure for that large of an injector.

I haven't actually checked the stations, but it appears on the internet that all the Kroger gas stations around here sell e85.

Yea, not sure how the fuel pressure thing works, the 06+ returnless system is taken as good to get you to 400-450 on 93, and a local got it up to 500 whp on 93, so you'd probably be good with just replacing pump with a walbro, if you are not looking for numbers over 400 on e85, not sure of it needs different fuel pressure though

I just ordered a set of Siemens Deka 675cc injectors, so I guess we'll see how e85 turns out shortly. Since it's so easy to switch between tunes on the FlashPro, I may just alternate between an e10 and e85 tune as the mood strikes.
