Thumbs up Hardtops

Hey Guys! (girls if any too )

I need some opinions on which hardtop to buy.

BBPenterprise on the forums here is selling VIS mugen style hardtops
"It will comes with plexiglass + custom hardware kit."
Price for FRP version = $1350 shipped to lower 48 states

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=809136

what do you prefer,Plexiglass or Glass?

ChaserAero on the forums here is selling Mugen style FRP hardtops
$999 (originally $1150) for FRP hardtop and custom hardware shipped

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=810543

Would I have to paint an aftermarket hardtop? Ill probably want to keep it black but not sure yet. I know OEM is already painted. What is your opinion on colors?

Im looking to get a hardtop ASAP. its raining and I had to take the duct tape off for the insurance guy >.< Im parked in the garage at work now but i hope its not raining when I get off.

Thanks in advanced guys!

Dont buy from chaser areo, I've heard nothing but bad fitment/customer service about them. I've heard Seibon has the best/flush fit for replicas and fitment is on the VIS okay fitment. I would get glass, as I would think the plexiglass would turn yellow and haze over time. I guess we'll have to let some more ppl chime in as I've never owned any hardtop.

Dont get glass or plexiglass.

Get lexan. I have the plexiglass in mine and I havent had any issues with yellowing. The only thing i had issues with is the clearcoat comming off. I need to upgrade

Contact Js2k for the VIS top, he's a local vendor and should at least beable to match that offer.

You should think about getting mugen "style" ht again.
I've had chaser cf ht, and fitment was ok.
All mugen "style" ht will not be perfect.
Some say authentic mugen ht is not perfect.

Though OEM ht costs a lot more, try to get OEM ht.
You won't regret it.

Get glass not lexan. I have the VIS top from js2k. The lexan scratches to hell.

I think OEM has the best fitment, best looks and least blind spot. Mugen looks good but it has the biggest blind spot of all the hardtops. If I ever get a hardtop, it would be OEM. It makes the car feel like a coupe and fits the car like a golve and your defroster will work with OEM too
