So when exactly are you guys wanting to leave? I am planning on wednesday night from west Texas right now, but that could change. Me and 2 other S2000 are leaving from Big Spring. I have done this drive a few times and usually take the 10. Ill be taking the 10 this time as well so I can stop in San Diego to pick up a friend in North county. I usually crash in Yuma with a friend but I dont know if that will happen this time either. Also, if you guys want a fun drive and you take the 10 you can exit right after the 10 hits the 8 in Ocotillo, take the s2 to the 78 west. Those are some really fun mountain curves. Also you could probably meet up with some San Diego guys and add to the caravan up to LA.

I'm pretty sure the convoy plan is to meet/leave by 11am...

That puts us in LA by 4pm, time to check in, detail the cars, and relax before Saturday.

Pretty much this. Also, if you get cold easy bring a sweatshirt as the nights can be pretty cool.

neutered sputniks had this to say: You'll want to make a 2 day drive out of DFW to PHX. I've done similar 2x (PHX to OKC x2), it's about a 14hr drive, as well as Abilene, TX to PHX (that was a 2-day drive, stayed in Las Cruces overnight).

If you all can swing it, it would be best to leave Wed, stay in Las Cruces Wed night, and into Phx Thurs.

Gives the afternoon/evening to relax/recover in Phx so you'll be fresh(er) for the cruise to LA and this will carry over into the actual Homecoming events. Remember, Homecoming might only officially be 4 hrs on Saturday, but there will be Fri and Sat night goings-on.

Is there like a border checkpoint that we would have to go thru if we take I-10? So they can search our cars etc...I was thinking of visiting a friend in lubbock and thus take I-40 to phoenix. We could stay the night i roswell, I have never been there and it might be interesting to check that out...just a thought. I am pretty much open to watever as this is my vacation so I just want to have fun and will wing it...
