Default John Eagle Honda (Dallas) alert...

My son recently had a very bad experience at John Eagle Honda in Dallas. When the passenger window came out its track on his '95 Civic EX, on the coldest day this week, he took it in for service there. After a couple of hours, they told him the parts were all bent inside the door panel and it would cost about $1000 to repair. He left and returned the next day to where he'd had his windows tinted- they fixed it in 15' at no cost. Nothing was broken or damaged.
He returned to John Eagle and confronted the service manager. A tech told him the door panel had never even been removed for investigation. This is the same place that tried to soak him for $1000 when he had a 60k mi service done a few months ago.
He'd called me to see if I'd purchased by S200 there (I hadn't)
Why is it we hear about so many Honda service horror stories? They build a pretty darn good product- why don't they stand behind it?

That is a shame - sorry to hear about your son's problems with them.

I've had fairly good experience with them (so far) - and that is where I bought mine (as well as a friend of mine, the same day ). Although last time I brought it in for the driver's side window problem nothing was accomplished (b/c it wouldn't malfunction while I had it there - Murphy's law).

Do you know who the service manager was that he dealt with?

Cdelena has reported poor service there as well. He had his clutch replaced by them a while back, then decided to replace it himself the next time. When he took everything apart, he found that JEH cross threaded a major frame bolt, stripped out some bolt heads, and left other bolts off. I think this car is going to be a total "Do It Yourself" car for me...

No, I don't know who it was. Glad you had a good experience. My son had bought the car there (used) over a year ago. I just keep reading so many posts about bad Honda service experiences.
Repeat business depends on loyal customers whose business is appreciated. I know my son doesn't feel like a valued customer. I advised him to take it to a shop that specialises in Hondas and forget Honda dealers.

If this is the bodyshop, John Eagle Collision Center, which works with John Eagle up in Dallas - they are quite the crooks. I'm even out a few hundred bucks because of their incompetence when ordering parts. I'll be soon taking out a lein on their property if they don't payup - or at least return my calls.

I hate John Eagle.

Their body shop took 4 tries to repaint and replace my rear bumper. They left paint drips all over the thing, didn't install all the clips, and gave it back to me with huge gaps between the quarter panel and the bumper cover.

Now, they're not wanting to fix the paint that's peeling off the front bumper under warranty.

I am very upset with them and would recommend people avoiding them if possible.
